Jason Williams, author of the Oregon 250 Resolution, showcased a wall of nearly 10,000 signatures from supporters who have signed on to the Oregon 250 resolution. The Oregon 250 Resolution made its debut last year at the Oregon State Fair. At that fair, people from all walks of life were excited to celebrate the country they love. A mother who lost her son in the Afghanistan War was touched by our Oregon 250 Resolution, as it honors veterans and their contributions. Also at our State Fair booth, people shared their immigration stories and their American dream stories of starting their own small businesses. One woman so loved our Resolution that she took off her flag lapel pin and gave it to us to encourage our efforts.
Our goal is to help boost old-fashioned love of country, national pride, civic responsibility, historical appreciation, and good-natured patriotism. It is essential for a diverse nation to have shared values that bring us together and hold us together when we disagree and go through hard times. Using a nation’s birthday is a vital time to reflect on the best of our past, as an inspiration to love each other and build a better future. People can build these shared values and build a better future by reading and sharing the Oregon 250 Resolution with family and friends. Independence Day is a great day to do a reading of the Oregon 250 Resolution and reflect our nation’s greatest and most touching moments and heroes.
Jason Williams has been to 64 countries (for charity work in 18 of them) and has seen firsthand how a nation can be fractured and lose its togetherness and common purpose. Those travels have also reinforced how unique American liberties and human rights values are in the world. Our American experience is worth keeping and building upon. Please share the Oregon 250 Resolution.
