The official America 250 symbol has been seen all over the recent Artemis II journey. As seen above, it was on banner inside the capsule with the astronauts. The banner was beneath the two flags of the United States and Canada which joined the mission. The official America 250 symbol was also placed on the twin solid rocket boosters of the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket. These emblems measure 8 feet high by 11.8 feet wide and painted at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The Center also painted the word “Integrity” on the rockets.
During their lunar flyby, the crew achieved a remarkable milestone, setting a new record for the greatest distance from Earth at 252,756 miles, surpassing Apollo 13’s previous record of 248,655 miles. Following the launch, Artemis II captured the world’s attention with their unique photos and sparking a wave of excitement that came to be known as “Moon joy.”
This recent launch was a beautiful symbol of American unity and progress. It is a fitting tribute to add the America 250 logo is a reminder of where we have been and where we are going. What a cause to celebrate.
