This quote above is from the American Legion Patriot packet that they handed out to children at the recent air show in Oregon.
It was in their comic book called Light of Liberty. The quote reads, “For every right you also have a responsibility. Learn about your rights and use them wisely. By using your rights, you help protect them.”
Teaching children that their rights come with responsibility is a hugely important virtue to teach.
It also says “America is a great country because its people are good citizens. Freedom and liberty begin with you.”
Teaching children that America is successful because of our good people is spot on. By saying, “Freedom and liberty begin with you.” It helps children know that they play an important part in making America special and exceptional.
