Last year, the Oregon 250 project chose patriotic poet Phillis Wheatley to become one of our three top American heroes to honor with our Oregon 250th Resolution honoring America’s 250th Anniversary. She joined our banner website and booth banner along with George Washington and Benjamin Franklin.
Just this year, the U.S. Postal Service has honored her with her own postage stamp.
The nation is discovering the greatness of Phillis Wheatley and they will be inspired the more they know about her.
